Toddler Group - Preschool Readiness
Our Preschool Readiness Program (Toddler Group) is designed to support the onset of academics and is aimed at children ages 2-3. As children begin to express their independence we introduce them to a classroom where they can learn to follow directions, make creative projects, develop a more extensive vocabulary, and establish social skills with their peers and teachers. We work hard on social skills by encouraging sharing, playing nicely together, and helping friends.
Toddlers will be introduced to a balanced daily schedule. Our teachers encourage each child to paint, colour, sing, dance, listen to stories, play with toys and build blocks and puzzles. The day offers outdoor play, large and small group activities, independent play, and quiet times. Toddlers will experience an exciting world of open curiosity expanding in the subject areas of literacy, mathematics, color/shape recognition and the use of fine and gross motor skills to begin on the journey of independent eating and eventually, doodling/writing.
Children in our Playschool programme begin the process of potty training. We work hand in hand with the parents to potty train the children prior to entering preschool.
By preparing Toddlers for their academic journey ahead with Point Pleasant Kids Academy students will feel at ease as their schedules move from a highly social and dependent environment to one of routine and independence creating lifelong learners.
